If you have a business in retailing, it is likely that you will have a lot of packaging to take care of. This means that you need to know the best kind of shapes that you can get for all your merchandise. You want them to be very classy and attractive, not something that will turn people away. It also needs to be fully functional, and what better way to get this than with these popular types of retail boxes shapes?

Rectangular boxes:

There are various styles and sizes when it comes to rectangular boxes. Boxes are the most common type of container because they offer more space while sitting flat on shelves. This makes it easier for people to pack and unpack.

They come in sizes. One size is smaller, like the ones you find at craft stores. The other size is bigger, like those you find at clothing stores.

Square boxes:

As for square packaging, you get box cartons again, but these are very similar to rectangular ones; they just come in different sizes and shapes. Again, this makes it easier to stack on shelves or store in large numbers.

Long skinny boxes:

Long skinny boxes are for small items that can fit inside. These can also be held vertically which means they will take less space on the shelf. Make sure that your containers are strong. This way, customers can put the container inside their bag without it breaking.

Gable boxes:

Gable boxes are the more common type of box that you see in stores. They’re sometimes called cracker, chip, and biscuit packages as well. A lot of things can fit inside a gable box which makes it ideal for retail businesses.

Gable boxes are cubical in shape so they can stack on top of each other easily. Customers know what they’re getting when they buy the product because the company puts advertising inserts inside the box.

Pie-shaped containers:

There are many containers that are shaped like a pie, but most of them can hold about 500g or half a kilogram of things like sweet bread, cakes, and other food items. These boxes are found in many fast food places and they are affordable. They can be made from recycled materials.

Flap-top boxes:

These look like gable boxes but with a wider opening flap that you can fold back to open neatly. The closure of the box is tight enough to keep the contents inside clean and secure. It also keeps your product safe while on display at any retail store for customers to see and buy.

Most of these flat-tops come in various sizes allowing you to choose one depending on your product size or weight. Some types of food packages have a tear notch on the top flap so it won’t get unfolded when you open it. This is handy if you are driving and want to eat something.

Chipboard pack:

This is a very durable and low-cost type of packaging box. If your product is lightweight and not too fragile, then this should be perfect for you! Packaging companies make these boxes from recycled paper pulp and other eco-friendly materials like sugarcane. This way they won’t hurt the environment.

These boxes are good for holding a lot of things. They can hold up to 60 pounds (27kgs) per cubic foot. So, they are good for people who have a lot of things, like food or toys or stationery, or even computers and other electronic gadgets. The bottom is solid, so you do not need extra inserts to make your products stand up by themselves at stores.

Tuck top:

The general shape of this packaging is rectangular with a slightly wider top. Tuck top boxes are perfect for stores. You can either place them vertically or horizontally without using up too much space. You don’t have to worry about taking the box out of the box to see what is inside.

Button front:

These kinds of plastic retail boxes are very much like tuck tops except that they close on each other when stacked on top of each other. In addition, most button fronts come with base inserts which make these easy to display in stores.

They can stand independently, saving retailers’ precious time and effort in rearranging them every time there’s an update in their inventory or whenever they want to attract more buyers.

Cube boxes:

These kinds of retail packaging provide consumers with an easy way to take out products without dumping their contents on the floor. They are perfect for small items like panties, socks, and undershirts because they allow customers to select individual items without digging through all the other items inside the package.

On average, three pieces can fit in a cube box, while only two units can fit into a plastic bag.

Pillow boxes:

These Pillow boxes are very popular in the online and in-store retail markets. Pillow boxes have become a very attractive packaging choice for retailers due to their unique design, allowing customers to directly see what’s inside before deciding whether or not they want to buy it. These containers can hold anything from jewelry, toys, small electronics, and sports balls such as soccer balls and baseballs. Companies make these boxes more appealing for the customers by using custom packaging prints. So, these boxes are very trendy these days.

Plastic bags:

The plastic bags are called “America’s number one best friend” because they offer convenience and affordability when packaging items for retail distribution purposes. They come in different sizes and styles, like paper shopping bags made out of recycled materials and biodegradable plastic bags that look like paper but won’t decorate the landscape when disposed of.

Final Thoughts:

The most common retail packaging shapes that you will find everywhere are containers for shoes, sacks, plastic bags, boxes, and tubes. These container designs offer convenience to products like toys, clothing accessories, and food items. Retailers also use these package types because they are affordable and easy to stack on shelves of stores where customers can easily see them.
